There are just too many possible routes we can take to get that skin glowing (from within) – clean eating, fitness, good sleeping habit, stress-free living. But, the common problem is they all require more of our time and long-term dedication to even achieve some slightest visible result. It is just so easy to find ourselves slacking off, or simply switching to one regimen after another when they don’t show any noticeable effect soon enough. Isn’t that the kind of situation that we throw ourselves in a bit too often? At least I do. Coming from your self-proclaimed personal-well-being freak, remember? Well, good news is this time it is not the case with dry brushing and I shall continue to have it as a part of my routine. Same goes to the apple cider vinegar and lemon drink I have been drinking every morning over the past few months (which consists of apple cider vinegar, lemon slices, honey and warm water). Despite how apparent these habits are affecting me physically, I will stick to them as long as they make me feel good. Don’t forget that our mood is also one critical thing that affects our skin condition. This is when we can do with some ‘external’ help to give our face a little radiance boost. Because no perfect set of routine can give us that camera-ready strobing effect. Now, the following six products are all you need to get that intensified summer glowing look. Quick, easy and natural. If they worked for me, sure they will work for you too.

SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture (for Normal or Oily Skin)
Setting a good base is the most vital part for creating a glowy look, and picking the right moisturiser matters, a lot. I am already on my second jar of this one by SkinCeuticals. It is fragrance-free and oil-free which is perfect for my sensitive combination skin. The texture is lightweight, and got a bit of shimmer to it which will leave a slight luminosity on the skin after application. LOVE that! Can’t recommend a better summer moisturiser if you have similar skin type like mine.
NARS Illuminator in Copacabana
NARS is my number one go-to for highlighting products and Copacabana is the shade to get. Considering it sells out all the time here in Hong Kong. The Illuminator is one highly versatile product that you can apply anywhere the light naturally hits your face. I suppose you can apply either before or after foundation. What I personally like to do is to mix a pea-sized amount of it with foundation for a nice dewy finish. Don’t be scared to do the same, trust me, it will turn out more natural than you imagined.
NARS The Multiple in Copacabana
Another must-have iconic product from the brand and again, in the shade of Copacabana. You just can’t call yourself a NARS fan without using one of their Multiple sticks. Just like the Illuminator, you can apply it on any areas that need to be highlighted. But, make sure to use it before powdering your face though, or else it will turn into a patchy mess. Lesson learned by yours truly.
MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in Light Boost
One noteworthy trick we learn from the whole Kardashian contouring sensation is to lighten the under eye areas. This MAC highlighter is a dream to work with for that purpose. It is not marketed as a concealer. But, obviously, you can if you don’t have serious dark circles that need some extra coverage. The formula is light and airy that will give the highlighted areas just the right amount of radiance needed.
MAC Mineralize skinfinish in Gold Deposit
The Mineralize skinfinish is one of my favourite MAC ranges and they really do last forever. I basically just woke up one day and thought it would be cool to get a shimmery bronzer. It turned out to be a good pick. This shade is perfect if you are after that glowy sunkissed look. Isn’t that our topic of discussion today? So, say goodbye to your matte bronzer, for now. I might also give Global Glow or Cheeky Bronze a try next, which seem to be more natural for fair complexion and can easily work as blush too.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige
There is really not much introduction needed for this cult classic. You can even use the five shades alone as eyeshadow, blush or bronzer – money well spent. This shade in Beige is particularly great as a powder highlighter. I normally use it – on all the areas enhanced with previous products – after setting powder to finish up the look.
