From Left: Miu Miu SS2016 Runway, Bella Hadid for US ELLE February 2016

Recently, I find myself being a little bit obsessed with strapped shoes all over again, especially those that are in no other shapes or forms other than flats – ballerinas, as they are formally called. It had been confirmed that these considerably basic styles are back under the spotlight when both Miu Miu and Prada gave them a fashion-forward facelift and it comes as no surprise that both pairs have been highly sought-after once they hit the online stores. Because let’s face it, we all favour flat shoes over heels just a bit more on most days and it is a never-ending search for our next endeared pair. In fact, you would find me digging up from the bottom of a pile of shoe boxes for heels only when some extra height is needed – you get the idea of how often that occurs (kitten and low block heels don’t count).
Aside from comfort, what else is not to love when you can wear them with almost everything – cropped jeans, culottes, mid-length skirts, slip dresses…you name it. Even though not all of us have ended up becoming a professional ballet dancer from all the dancing classes we took as a kid, but some of us could at least still dress like one. Lucky for us, the dancer-elegant staple has made a fashion revival in itself this spring-summer and appears in some of the most unconventional forms enhanced with fresh detailing. My feet simply cannot keep still just by looking at these beauties.
