Denims to me is pretty much like water to the human body – can’t live without it – which explains their regular appearances on my Instagram. The relationship of me and jeans will forever be a contradictory love story. Sure I love them for what they are. However, the continual denim evolution also means that you are always gonna need that new pair with a slightly different shade, cut, or wash. It seems that the mystery of ‘how your closet is filled with almost the same looking jeans’ has now found its answer – they all simply looked different, even in the slightest detail. The next time when your mom or other half judge your denim collection, AGAIN, you know what to tell them.

Jeans as the mother of all closet staples had surely come a long way at pushing fashion forward in its own right. From the distressed grungy jeans, retro boyfriend jeans to the most recent cool-girls-must-have frayed hem jeans, the denim game is only gonna get stronger with Vetements as the latest addition to the scene. While these younger brands are all nailing it at giving us the freshest on-trend pieces – kudos to that – I find a pair of timeless everyday jeans is just as essential. You know that all-round pair that basically makes everything looked good. As a sucker for heritage brands, who else do you go to other than Levi’s for a pair of classics that would last regardless of trends. I must admit that some favourable sentimental attachment also plays a part here for sure, as it is probably the very first denim brand I was introduced to as a kid. When you think about it, a basic pair of jeans with flattering fit that shows off your best asset is really all you need in the end. This pair can go right straight into my regular-go-to pile and stays there for quiet long time I reckon.
