Lately, I have some sort of an impromptu obsession with everything 50s and 60s which led to me binge-watching a great deal of old movies from those periods – only when no work or other trivial things got in my way from doing so that is (not like this is a complete new found love of mine being a long-time Mad Men fan, just so you know).
Now, any mention of movies from the swinging 60s will universally draw our attention to the era’s most stylish icon, Audrey Hepburn, also known for her remarkable personal style when not partying in Breakfast at Tiffany’s or being Parisian in Sabrina. I know what you are thinking. “Taking style inspiration from Audrey Hepburn? How cliche.” But an icon is an icon for a reason that there is always something worthwhile for us to learn from. By now, I have gone through nearly every Hepburn movie from those late night indulgence. Seeing that her on-screen fashion moments in collaboration with Hubert de Givenchy are probably the most overused style reference to date, this post will instead be in focus on her less-curated-off-duty style. Really, only those with styles of their own that have stood the test of time and never failed to continuously inspiring us are true icons, right? And we know we can always turn to Miss Hepburn for that – so here we are – the most enduring icon’s 4 off-screen looks that you can take style cues from repeatedly. Take it that you might have gone through similar lessons before elsewhere, but then refreshments are always needed when it comes to fashion, no? Well, in that case, I am here to provide them.
